Love at first sight is easy to understand; it's when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle

Bargain Hunting in Chiangmai

August 3, 2006

I just completed my assignment early so I decided to go and look at the small handicraft stores near my hotel. When I compared the prices, the items in these small shops were a lot cheaper than the ones sold in the Night Market.

Shopping in Chiangmai is more economical since prices compared to those in Bangkok specially those in Chatuchak market are much much cheaper here. You can buy a variety of household decorations from picture frames, lamps, candles, table runners and seat covers ( of different ethnic patterns )selling at around Bht100 to Bht 120. In Bangkok they sell twice as much.

I headed back to the hotel at around 8 pm happy with my purchases of seat cushions and table cloth for our dining table and some frames for my wifes office or our room.

Thanks for calling and asking me about the colors of your purchases. I hope to see it (also you) soon.

Thailand is really a shopper’s paradise. I remember my escapades before in Bangkok. Surprisingly, the Thais even know how to speak in Tagalog so they can easily sympathize with the Pinoys.

Cheers Tonio. Thanks for informing me about this litlle project of yours…
